LOCAL 340 EVENTS
PIN PRESENTATION – SATURDAY 11/5/2022
The RSVPs for this long-awaited event are coming in and we couldn’t be more excited to see all of those attending. We sent reminders to those we have not yet heard a response back from, so if you are one of those who have not turned in your RSVP, please do so as soon as possible. We will be starting with a light breakfast and ending with a lunch. Guest speakers, such as our President Mark Steelman will be in attendance. We can’t wait to see you at this event. It is open to other active members as well, but we need a head count, so we order enough. Please contact the front office to let us know you will be there.
PREPARING TO RETIRE – DATE CHANGE
As most may know we have been planning to hold a Retiree Seminar where numerous speakers from the pension plans, including Social Security, were to attend. At this time, we have to postpone this event. We realized the dates were conflicting with both a holiday weekend and as well as some other minor details being worked out so we will be holding this event in 2023. No official date has been set as we are working with our speakers on another date. We hope to have an even bigger attendance by then too. Be sure to be on the lookout for more details by
Reaching out to Clerical Assistant Kao Nu at 916-927-4239 ext. 1001 to save your spot and be on the list for the next scheduled date.
NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION
This was the first time we held this event in person in almost 3 years and it was such a great feeling to have new members under one roof. We hope that all who attended left with a bit more of an understanding for their membership and brotherhood here at IBEW. The next scheduled class will be at our hall on January 10, 2023, at 5 pm. We will be sending reschedule letters to those who did not attend this last class and reminders to those scheduled for the next class as the date approaches closer.
340 ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP PICNIC
Another event we were able to hold in person was our Annual Membership Picnic. It was held on September 17th at the Hagan Community Park. There was lots of laughs, good food and good times with old friends. We were very happy with the turn out and seeing all our members share this special event near and dear to the hearts of the membership. If you are interested in helping for next year’s picnic keep an eye out for notifications next March, the picnic committee looks forward to welcoming new members. Thank you to all our volunteers, sponsors and staff who assisted in bringing back this event.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS BASKET RAFFLE 2022
We have ordered tickets for our Annual Operation Christmas Basket this year and hope to have the tickets available for donation starting at our October membership meeting. Please help us support local union families. Every dollar that is raised goes to help purchase food and toys for all Union members in all the Trades in the Sacramento area. Let’s keep this tradition going strong which started over 40 years ago by IBEW Brother Lud Larson and Brother Harry Bain.
