LOCAL 340’S BUSINESS OFFICE NEWS
Please remember that the although the Business Office is not currently open to the public, we are still here to answer all your questions or concerns. You may call us at 916-927-4239 and hit option 7 to hear our list of staff directory. Please be sure that if we do not answer right away you leave a message. We are experiencing high call volume right now but value every call we receive. Our top priority is taking care of our membership and assisting them in any way possible. A letter also be sent out to the membership with updates from the Office and Executive Board. This will have important information with dates and times for upcoming committee meetings. Please note that our Membership meetings are temporarily suspended at this time, but we are working behind the scenes to find ways to better serve all of you. We appreciate your patience and understanding in all of this as we navigate through each day.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS BASKET
It is hard to believe that the year is almost over. As we approach the upcoming holiday season with a much different mindset these days, we are aware there may have been many families effected by the ongoing pandemic of COVID-19. Therefore it is especially important we extend this invite to any Union member who is experiencing a hard time financially this year due to loss of work or illness. If you, a Union Brother or Sister are in need of assistance this holiday season whether that be holiday meal or help with presents please reach out to our Office Manager Reyna Jimenez via phone at 916-539-0412 or email reyna@ibewlocal340.org. We will of course be kicking off the raffle to help raise funds for these families and also be donating to local charities. Please help support our efforts by purchasing tickets. More details to come about buying the tickets.
NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION
By the time this reaches our membership we would have held our September 26th orientation class. We hold these classes bimonthly to help new and transferring members coming into our local to learn about their Union membership and benefits offered to them. It is a very informational class that we encourage members and their spouses to attend. Our next scheduled class will be held on November 7th. If you missed the last class pleas be sure to mark your calendars for this one.
BASIC MONTHLY DUES
Each member should be receiving a yellow dues receipt each month which states the basic monthly dues paid thru date. If you are not receiving these on a monthly basis it is important you reach out to us or check your basic monthly dues status online. These dues are owed on the first of the month every month.
DEFERRED SAVINGS DEPOSITS – CHECKS
We have been trying to contact all members who have not turned in their EFT form or have not yet deposited their checks. In order for the deposit to run smoothly please ensure you turn in the necessary documents; this includes a copy of a voided check or direct deposit slip with your EFT form. If you have questions regartding your deposits or need a form please contact Teresa Raney at 916-923-0666 and she will be happy to assist you.
