The Sacramento Central Labor Council Picnic will be held on Labor Day from 5:00 PM – 8:30 PM at Fairytale Town in William Land Park. Redding’s Central Labor Council Picnic will be held at Anderson River Park starting at 11:00 AM. Both of these picnics celebrate working men and women in all trades. JOBSITE PICTURES
Wanted! Local 340 worksite pictures that include the jobsites, the actual work and the members working on that job. We are building a master picture data base to add to our collection of pictures to be used for reference, for the Labor Bulletin or Electrical Worker publication, as well as for slideshows! We know our members have the best pictures in their phones. We will be changing up the marque in the Hall with these pictures from time to time, so if you think you have some favorite or interesting photos, just email them to Administrative Secretary Justine Villasenor at jvillasenor@ibewlocal340.org. Please include the names of the projects, as well as member names, if you have them. Add to Local 340’s history.
CONGRATULATIONS LOCAL 340 PIN RECIPIENTS FOR 2019
Thanks again to everyone who attended the Open House/Pin Presentation on Saturday May 4th to pick up your IBEW years of service pins, especially the retirees who were celebrating over 50 years of service. On behalf of the Officers and members of Local 340, I thank these veteran members. It is because of your hard work and dedication to the IBEW that we can continue to do what we do to grow the Local.
IBEW PERCAPITA DUES INCREASE FOR “A” MEMBERS ONLY
Future dues increases were approved at the 39th IBEW International Convention held in 2016, and in accordance with Article IX of the IBEW Constitution all “A” member’s per capita dues will increase by $1.00 per month effective with January 2020 dues. If you pay in advance, please be sure to include the increase with your payment. We will be sending reminders to the membership in the Fall.
MEMBERSHIP PICNIC
The membership picnic will be held at Hagan Community Park in Rancho Cordova on Saturday September 14th! Look for your flier and RSVP in the mail and get it back to us immediately so that the committee can plan accordingly for food and giveaways. This is going to be a fun picnic with the carnival games, “Richie the balloon guy”, bingo, the member only raffle, music, tug of war, etc. It’s all free for all members! If you have not attended one of our picnics, this is the year to do it!
Also, if you can volunteer an hour or so that day, we can always use your help. Just mark your RSVP accordingly and the committee will get back to you. Thank you!
LABOR DAY PICNICS (2)

ANNUAL IBEW DAY AT THE BAY FISHING EXPEDITION
This year’s fishing trip in the Bay was a huge success. Both boats were full of IBEW members and their families. Between the Pacific Dream and the California Dawn, the trip on May 25th brought in 112 halibut, 12 striped bass and even one leopard shark. That’s a good day in the Bay. Thanks to the Brothers Jason Green and Jason Prasad for organizing this annual event.
