Redding’s Central Labor Council Picnic will be held at Anderson River Park starting at 11:00 AM.
IBEW PERCAPITA DUES INCREASE FOR “A” MEMBERS ONLY
Future dues increases were approved at the 39th IBEW International Convention held in 2016. In accordance with Article IX of the IBEW Constitution all “A” member per capita dues will increase by $1.00 per month effective with January 2020 dues. If you pay in advance, please be sure to include the increase with your payment.
Speaking of dues, 39 members had to pay reinstatement fees in July as they were over 3 months in arrears. That means that 39 members were not in good standing and were not covered by the IBEW death benefit had anything happened to them. Please remember – basic dues are due on the 1st of each month for THAT month. We offer multiple way to pay your dues: in person, online and over the phone via credit card. Check your dues receipt now. Are you current?
MEMBERSHIP PICNIC – SATURDAY 9/14/19
Hagan Community Park in Rancho Cordova – All members are invited to bring your families to this all free family event! Carnival games, snow cones, balloon artist, hamster balls and jump houses as well as those friendly competition games between Journeymen and Apprentices. Hope to see you there! Also, if you signed up to help, be sure to check in at the Volunteer Table to sign in, pick up your gift and to see what you will be doing and when. Thank you all! The hard work of our Picnic Committee members, the Local 340 Office Staff and the Picnic Volunteers are the reason this picnic is always a huge success.

NEW IBEW BABY
Brother Layn Strickland and wife Jordann are the proud parents of a new baby boy. “William Gerald” was born on July 27th at 7 pounds 6oz. Layn is one of our Northern members working at the Burney Forest Power Plant. Congratulations Brother.
ACCIDENTS & ILLNESSES
Patty Paterson, our current Projects Coordinator is happy to finally be on the other side of her multiple arm surgeries. She is back to work and has recently informed me that after serving 23+ years with our Union, she will be retiring from IBEW Local 340 at the end of this year and might be moving out of State. Patty is looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible at this year’s picnic.
REST IN PEACE
We are sorry to report Brother Joe Becker’s wife Joan passed away in early July.
It is with a heavy heart I report that a young IBEW apprentice from Local 332’s family was involved in the Gilroy shooting. His 6 year old son Stephen was killed and two of his family members were hospitalized. Many IBEW members and Locals (included ours) have made donations to help the family thru this tragedy.
