HAPPY HOLIDAYS
As we close another year, we would like to thank our Brothers and Sisters for their continued hard work, both members and staff for another great year, especially in such an everchanging world. We hope that as we enter the holiday season, we are all reminded of how the foundation for what makes the union strong is unity. From our office staff and representatives, Happy Holidays and a wonderful New Year.
MONTHLY BASIC DUES INCREASE – ALL MEMBERS
Effective January 2023 dues for monthly membership for all members will be increased. If you are on automatic dues checkoff, you will see the increase on your first receipt for January 2023 basic dues. We have sent a second reminder to those who previously paid in advance, which now shows a difference in dues owed on your account, this is for any dues payments made prior to the announcement of the increase. Please be sure to inform your bank if you have checks sent in on your behalf.
Please note that all “A” members are increasing by $4.00, and all “BA” members are increasing by $2.00. If you are a BA member, we have mailed you as well as your employer noting this change.
This increase comes on behalf of the International Office, it is not something we impose or keep at the local level.
PIN PRESENTATION
The Pin Presentation was such a successful event. It was a sight to see all of our “Old Timers” gather and reminisce. I would like to thank Mark Steelman for his time and effort he puts into these events to really make each recipient feel special when receiving their award, whether it be with a short story he was able to dig up or a heartfelt thank you all those who attended had a great time. We look forward to holding these events in the future with many more recipients and guests.
TRAINING CLASSES
We filled up both the Steward Training and Women’s Class fairly quickly as anticipated.
NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION
Our next class will be held on January 10th at 5 pm in our Union Hall. Members of the Northern Unit will attend with John Roden at the Redding Hall and join in on the first portion via zoom with the Sacramento Hall. Reminders will be sent out a week prior to the class via email. This class is very informative and addresses numerous topics that many new members have questions about. We encourage you to bring your spouse or significant other with you to the class.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS BASKET 2022
Operation Christmas basket was such a success, and we would like to thank all of those who donated this year. We truly felt the holiday spirit and brotherhood return. The money from the donation is being tallied up and will also announce our winners in next month’s article.
ACCIDENTS/ILLNESSES
We are pleased to report no accidents or deaths at this time. We hope everyone continues to have a safe, healthy, and happy holiday season!
